Emergencies that require immediate attention (contact your veterinarian or nearest E.R.) are as follows:

• noisy breathing
• difficulty breathing
• gasping
• blue tongue
• bloated or distended abdomen
• swollen or painfull belly with or without vomiting
• inability to urinate or move bowels but continues to try, or bloody or painful (especially male cats)
• loss of balance
• heatstroke
• loss of consciousness
• vomiting and/or diarrhea
• tremors
• coma
• staggering
• convulsions
• sudden blindness
• fainting
• tilting of head
• withdrawal or out of character aggressiveness
• lameness--will not use a limb
• seizure
• diarrhea with blood and/or repeated vomiting with blood
• penetrating wounds especially to the chest or belly
• poisoning (retain container to show what toxins have been ingested)
• pain
• major trauma
• injury, or shock from a fall or a car accident
• wounds, cuts, broken bones
• eye problems
• severe itching, hives
• pointed change in temperament or disposition.
